The University provides financial assistance to students from various funding sources. The financial assistance provided may be referred to as an award, stipend, scholarship, internship, tuition assistance,fellowship, or grant. Regardless of the funding source or term used, these payments are financial assistance to the student. In order to comply with governmental reporting requirements, all payments made to students must be processed through the PeopleSoft Student Financial Services module and posted to the Student's Account.

In order to ensure appropriate stewardship of Sponsored Programs Foundation resources, a determination has to be made to show that prices paid for goods or services are fair and reasonable. The level of analysis required will largely depend on the dollar size of the order and should take into consideration not only price but the quality, delivery and other factors.

Volunteers provide various types of services to the Sponsored Programs Foundation. This form Identifies the person as a Volunteer and makes them eligible for worker’s compensation insurance coverage if they are injured as a result of such volunteer services.
